"THE CURSE OF YAMA" BY K.F. RIDLEY

I was intrigued from the very beginning, K.F. Ridley has written a story that middle-graders and even adults will absolutely love and cherish. I really love the fact that she uses animals and messages about how it's wrong to poach and hunt them. The addition of Chloe's ability (which I refuse to give away :)) when she receives an amulet from Tumera lends just enough of a magical quality to the story that I can imagine all children wishing they had one! I know I do and I'm a grown up!

Chloe and her friend Sotol are some of the greatest heroes ever and along with their elephant friend Goesha, this story is simply enchanting. All kids dream of traveling to far off lands and having exciting adventures and this book is one that promotes imagination! The fact this book has a precursor title called "The C. Walker Adventures," leads me to believe there is more to come, and I certainly hope so!

You are an amazing artist Ellen! I loved the pictures and I can't wait to see more of your work in the books to come. I am super excited about this series! My daughter is going to read it soon so I'm going to try and tie her to a chair and make her do a review. She's 10 so she's the perfect age!
