Review:

"With a Little Help from My Friends" by Elizabeth Fleming was a wonderful read. Elizabeth Fleming is telling her story. Born Dec 21, 1966 with a tangled cord around her
neck that prevented her from breathing properly and thought to be dead. However, Elizabeth survived and is now still living. Having loving parents (Mum and Dad), with two sisters, Diane and Moira, Nana Fleming, Auntie Jean, Uncle David, Ross, Nicky, Julie and Kirsty(nephew and nieces).
Elizabeth was able to attend school with disabilities and this gave my parents hope. From 5 and 1/2 Elizabeth started regular school. School was very difficult due to cruelness of the some of children. ..like being call "Jelly Legs" and "Mongol. Growing up in a normal world is hard for anyone, but one having a disability made it even harder.
Having some good teachers was a plus for Elizabeth and there were also Ann and Mary who were her special friends that help make her life happy. Having Cerebral Palsy often made Elizabeth sad however with all the love she
had around her she was made to feel loved. Elizabeth appreciated people who understood her difficulties... lots of panic attacks and depression.
The story was written so that people will understand what life was for Elizabeth and others like her. Still at twenty-eight Elizabeth is still the subject of name calling by her disability. This may have brought her many problems however, she was never short of love.
"With a Little Help from My Friends" by Elizabeth Flemming was a very interesting read for me and would definitely recommend this book for all to read.
